Planting Radish

I planted radish seeds mid April. There was a slight chance of frost but I decided to press my luck. As the weather got warmer I figured the soil will be warm enough and worst case I can always cover the seeds with plastic. I haven’t grown radish before so I was excited to get started.

The seeds germinated pretty quickly. I believe they germinated in under a week. I planted other greens at the same time an none of the other seeds germinated. I believe about 80% of the seeds germinated leaving me with some bushy spots. I may have to remove some to leave growing space.

I had to cover the bed because squirrels were digging in the bed. I am not sure if they were hiding their own food or eating my seeds. I used a plastic green mesh I got at the Dollar store in Canada. I used this mesh last year so it had some holes in it which I remedied with zip-ties.

I fertilized the Radish a handful of times. I used Miracle Grow liquid feed and my 1G spray bottle. Check out my products page for all of the gardening products I use. After about a week and a half they looked pretty big. A week after that they were out of the woods weather wise. Nothing but sun on the horizon. This is my first time planting radish, I am excited to see them grow.
